Audi Sport UK Team Veloqx relies on transport supplied by Ontime Automotive
The art of building a winning racing team like the all-conquering Audi Sport UK Team Veloqx is to look for perfection in everything. Clearly the drivers and the engineers have to be the best, as do the cars themselves – in Veloqx’s case, the proven Audi R8. But the support staff have to be on the button too, as do the support vehicles – enter Ontime Automotive.
Ontime Automotive has been supporting Team Veloqx throughout this season and effectively been responsible for the delivery of all the team’s hardware to the circuits. The company has supplied the two MAN tractor units that haul the immaculate race trailers (one for the cars and spares and one for the support equipment such as fuel rigs and even the garage floor!), as well as the 18 ton MAN rigid truck that transports everything from race wheels to bodywork.
The 2004 spec. tractor units are MAN TGAs, powered by the 12-litre 410 turbo diesel engine driving through a 16 speed ‘Comfort Shift’ gearbox. Both distinctive metallic silver tractor units and the 6.9-litre rigid truck feature roof deflectors and side skirts and are equipped with high-roof sleeper cabs.
