Ontime Automotive's latest transporters are Mercedes-Benz Actros 1836L Rigids, selected for their engine reliability, driver comfort and the safety they provide for both the Ontime drivers and the motor cars they carry. The prime mover, the drawbar, is on full air suspension and is equipped with specialist loading equipment, providing Ontime Automotive with the flexibility to continue to support its clients in product development as the automotive deign industry advances.

These latest builds incorporate the innovative new loading deck and pivot deck designs created by Ontime Automotive's Fleet Management Team to enable Ontime to maximise every transporter's load space and stow vehicles more efficiently.

Today Ontime Automotive's specialist enclosed fleet can carry vehicles weighing up to four tonnes. When operated with a hard sided trailer, the rigid and drawbar combination with PTO-operated hydraulic internal decks and platforms will allow the transporter to take up to four vehicles, including car-derived vans and Range Rovers, for example, complementing the current enclosed fleet which can accommodate loads varying between one and eight vehicles.

The new Ontime transporters will join the existing enclosed fleet in operating throughout Europe and will each cover over 100,000km per year. The Ontime fleet travels to and from the automotive industry's renowned extreme weather testing areas such as Ivalo, Finland and Nardo, Italy and the Northern Sahara Desert, as well as the more 'local' scheduled distribution routes of mainland Europe which today include Russia, Greece and Turkey.
