Additional Open Transporters for Ontime

Ontime Automotive's Volume Distribution team has started the New Year by placing orders for over £3m worth of open, volume car transporters to support newly won distribution contracts with Volvo Logistics and Land Rover.
As part of Ontime Automotive's ongoing commitment to the Premier Automotive Group's brands, an essential part of the new fleet will be Volvo FM Driveline tractor units with twelve litre, 380hp engines backed with Transporter Engineering Limited Plus-11 Mk 2 rigid and drawbar units. These additional transporters will enable Ontime Automotive to carry up to twelve cars per load combined with the flexibility to accommodate all of its clients' models - from small, compact cars such as BMW's MINI to the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van.
Eighteen of the additional, new transporters, largely powered by Mercedes Actros tractors, have been ordered from Strasbourg-based manufacturer, Lohr, with specific design instruction enabling Ontime Automotive to carry eight of the largest Land Rover units per load. "I believe this design is an industry first for the UK volume distribution industry, " said Group Managing Director, David Brinklow. "Our new Volvo and retained Land Rover distribution contracts have enabled Ontime Automotive to start 2006 on a very encouraging note."
