Ontime Automotive, formerly Arcade, was originally formed in 1945; the BIDVest Group, a fully listed company on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, became Ontime's major share holder in January 2002 and Ontime has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of BIDVest since July 2004.
BIDVest is a global player in the service-related industry, focusing on supply chain services worldwide. BIDVest is the second largest company by turnover in South Africa and today comprises 155 companies and 89,000 employees.
Results for the Year Ended 30th June 2005: Financial Highlights
Revenue grew 22,5% to R62,8 billion (2004: R51,3 billion) and trading income reached R3,2 billion (2004: R2,5 billion), an increase of 24,4%.
Today in the UK
Ontime is fully managed from the UK; the Ontime Group employs over 800 staff and is the owner-operator of 600 transporter vehicles that can operate throughout Europe. BIDVest is also the owner of 3663.
Ontime Automotive Group's Senior Management Team
David Brinklow (57) is the Managing Director of the Ontime Automotive Group.
In 1978, David was appointed Managing Director of the Brinklow family business, Arcade Motors Limited. In 1997, the business was sold to BIDCorp plc and today one of its main components, Arcade Rescue & Recovery Limited, still forms one of the principle divisions of Ontime Automotive.
David is a Fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry (FIMI) and a Fellow of the Institute of Vehicle Recovery (FIVR). In his spare time, David enjoys holidaying with his family and experiencing new high-adrenalin hobbies such as helicopter flying and scuba diving.
Stuart McLaughlan (41) is the Financial Director of the Ontime Automotive Group.
Stuart joined Ontime Rescue & Recovery in April 2000 as Financial Director.
Stuart is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales with 17 years post-qualification experience. After training in the profession, Stuart held a number of senior positions in Delta plc and later in BIDCorp plc where he held the role of Group Financial Controller.
Stuart is a seasoned marathon runner and also enjoys camping with his children and grown up socialising too.
